Some of our Best Memories

Here is a small sampling of some our favorite adventures from the last 10 years.

The trip that started it all: Wadi Rum, Jordan

When you think ‘vacation,’ most people think of sipping sweet drinks on a beach or maybe an amusement part with giant rodents; but what do you do when a group of former service members from a European military ask for a ‘challenging’ vacation experience in Jordan? This was not going to be the common tourist experience, and this is the trip that started it all!

With our local partner we were able to put together a challenging program that allowed these men to trek through the desert in Wadi Rum. For 5 days we marched through the parched desert to arrive at a predetermined camp each evening where our clients could enjoy a relaxing meal around the campfire. Over the course of 5 days and 4 night we progressed through the valley, enjoying the exertion and the company of our Bedouin guide.

The Impossible Trip: Everywhere, Jordan (literally)

We were approached by a regional aid organization that wanted a to reward their staff with a week long trip. NBD right? Wrong! Their age range was mid-twenties to mid-eighties (and one 8-month pregnant participant thrown in for good measure). How do you provide an experience that will be memorable (in a good way) for each participant, oh, and on a shoe-string budget!

Armed with our local partner’s expertise, our own deep knowledge of the country, and an awesome questionnaire, we were able to identify similar and divergent interests and put together a trip that allowed for maximum challenge for those who wanted and relaxing, informative excursions for others during the day and team building evenings at all the same overnight locations.

Over the course of the trip we planned and executed 11 unique adventures all while maximizing local interaction. The experiences provide ranged from climbing waterfalls and bouldering in the desert to relaxing in the Dead Sea and private tours of historical (and religious) sites; from camping Bedouin style in the desert to being pampered in some of the finest resorts. To this day, it is one of our fondest memories and favorite adventures!

Our Strangest Request . . . the whole Middle East

In 2013 we were approached by a US based businessman who was traveling to the region. As he traveled through the region, he wanted to ‘punch his golf card’ in each country he traveled to. He left it up to us to facilitate an excursion in each country. He was bringing the clubs, it was up to us to find a way to make it happen. This ranged from overly simple to painstakingly difficult. He ended up night golfing in Saudi Arabia and ‘wilderness golfing’ (yes, that is a thing - you literally CARRY the fairway with you) in Jordan. It ended up being a favorite of our founder and we have since heard from our client that his stories are always a hit at the ‘19th hole,’ wherever he goes.
